Hands working on a motorcycle exhaust and rear wheel at Redline

Engine, Brakes
& Electrical

The deeper work. Top-end jobs, brake systems, charging faults and the electrical gremlins other shops send back out the door.

This is where diagnosis matters most. Engine and electrical faults are the jobs most often “repaired” by replacing parts until the symptom moves, which is expensive and frequently doesn’t work. We put it on the machine first.

Engine work

  • Top-end work, valve adjustment and timing.
  • Noise and vibration diagnosis — the ones that change with revs, load or heat.
  • Overheating, oil consumption and compression loss.
  • Major overhauls where the bike is worth putting the money into. We’ll say honestly when it isn’t.

Brakes

  • Pads, discs, lines and fluid.
  • Spongy lever, dragging caliper, pulsing under braking.
  • Seized pistons — very common on a bike that sat through a salted winter.

Electrical

  • Charging faults: stator, regulator-rectifier, and batteries that keep dying for a reason nobody found.
  • Battery replacement and testing — including whether the battery was ever actually the problem.
  • Starting faults, lighting, wiring repairs and the aftermarket accessory someone spliced in badly.

A battery that keeps going flat over winter is usually not a bad battery. It’s a bike parked without a tender — which is one of the reasons a tender is included in our storage packages.

Back to repair for everything else we handle in this part of the shop.
